In December of 2007, The Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco held an exhibition called COLOR: A Winter Carnivale. It was curated by one of Ink-Dwell’s collaborators, Anjel Van Slyke of Crux + Canopy. This exhibit showcased the function of color in plants and flowers.
The visual theme of the show was a Victorian carnivale and Jane was commissioned to paint the props that the plants were displayed on as well as a cutout for the visitors to take photos with.
This was a pivotal project that shifted her own purpose for making art. She loved that the work she was doing was for education, science and nature. From that point on, Jane really wanted all of her work to have that same purpose.
